ABOUT THIRD SLIP

Thirdslip.com is a cricket web site with a difference. We do not plan to provide live scores, cricket news, interviews or action photographs. Instead we will provide analytical insights into different aspects of the game, quizzes that will test your cricketing intellect to the full, and meaningful measures by which to determine the relative skills of players, as well as the value of strategic decisions under different conditions. There will also be a forum for readers/viewers to participate. We will be happy to receive and publish good articles providing a new analytical view of any aspect of the game.

Thirdslip.Com was founded by Y. Anantha Narayanan and Ashwin Mahesh, and builds on the extensive cricket-analysis experience of the former, and the online communication expertise of the latter. Either of the founders of this web site can be reached at thirdslip@thirdslip.com

Anantha Narayanan is the creator of many recent analytical views and presentations of the game, including the Wisden 100 and Wisden Ratings. He has been a consultant to Wisden over the past few years and was the Analytical Specialist on the acclaimed Wisden 20-20 show on Doordarshan. Since leaving his software design and development position with IBM in the 1980s, Anantha Narayanan has developed a wide range of cricket simulation software and analytical tools. In the interim period, he co-founded and ran StumpVision, a sports software company in Bangalore.

Ashwin Mahesh has been an astronomer, climatologist and journalist by profession, and is a cricket fan by avocation. He is a co-founder of India Together, the online public interest information provider. His opinion column is a regular feature on rediff.com, and less frequently, he has contributed a cricket column as well to the same publication.
